As my friends know, I lead a rather active life in my dreams (hence the name Drommare, Swedish for "dreamer" for my English friends), and this week has been no exception. I am not one of those people who cannot remember my dreams once they wake up, in fact they often stay with me for days. This week, while on vacation I have had some pretty crazy ones. So when I logged onto MYSPACE today I see an advertisement for analyzing dreams called Sleep Diary. Interesting, but they are still not getting my hard earned $19.99, I have decided to analyze some of my dreams myself. Since I am sure you have better things to do then read my long blog I will start with just one I had this week.
It starts off with me being hired to be an assistant for a busines man (get your mind out of the gutter its not that kind of dream) and he wants me to clear out his flat overlooking a large body of water. While I am there I have the run of the house and stay there. At night I look down over to the sea (I think it's the sea but resembles more of a cove) and I see a hundreds of shark's fins in the water. During the day, the sharks are not visible and I continue to work at packing papers into boxes for this businessman. At some point I complete the job and get another working as an assistant for a famous European futbol (soccer)player. At first he bores me but then he endures himself to me and we fall in love. He leaves to play a very important match and I am to meet him there but I am stopped by security and told to empty my purse. When I do, there are bottles full of various cleaning solutions, all futbol (soccer) related. I am not sure there is even such a thing. I tell them I am there to see my boyfriend the famous futbol player. They ask me his name and I realize I don't know it! I have a friendly chat with the security guys and they let me go. I am left standing in front of the gates with no idea of how or where to find my love. And the dream ends.
Ok so we have: Me, working as an assistant not once but twice. According to dreammood.com:
To dream that you are giving assistance to someone, suggests that you are being called on for support, either emotional support or physical support.
Interesting. Next the sharks, whats up with that?
To see a shark in your dream, represents a person whom you see as greedy and unscrupulous. This person goes after what what he or she wants with no regards to the well-being and sensitivity of others. The shark may also be an aspect of your own personality which exhibit these qualities. Alternatively, you may be going through a difficult, painful, or unpleasant emotional period. The shark symbolizes feelings of anger, hostility, and fierceness. You may be an emotional threat to yourself or to others.
WOW! This is freaking scary. Two for two. Let's move on.
Losing my lover was a little harder to decipher but I pieced together losing something and lover and got something like this:
To dream of love of being in love, suggests intense feelings carried over from a waking relationship.
Losing things in your dream may signify lost opportunities, past relationships or forgotten aspects of yourself. Your personal associations to the thing you lose will clue you into the emotional meaning and interpretation of your dream. You may not be getting enough love in your daily life. We naturally long for the sense to belong and to be accepted.
Holy crap! Can this be true? Seems quite accurate at the moment. So what does futbol (soccer) symbolize?
The game of soccer may refer to how you function and run your life when confronted with challenges. It is symbolic of your competency, integrity, strengths and weaknesses. To dream that you are playing soccer, suggests that you are suppressing your sexuality and/or aggression and expressing it in a more socially acceptable manner.
I am freaking myself out now. Well I think for the most part it is fairly accurate. Maybe there is something to this dream analysis afterall! I will keep you posted.
Yours truly,
Drommare
